Gold Seal

Marco continues to recruit only the best employees. We required that all Superintendents and Project Managers achieve a Gold Seal Status. The Gold Seal is a certification program developed by the Canadian Construction Association that signifies an individual has attained a nationally recognized level of experience and competence. For Marco, this is a statement of its professionalism and commitment. While Gold Seal Status is not a requirement by clients at this time, the company is committed to high standards of excellence and believes it will be an industry standard in years to come.

LEED

In addition, Marco continues to be actively involved in education, as it relates to standards of "green" building design. The environmentally sustainable construction program known as LEED (The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an initiative Marco is committed to furthering within our organization.

Wellness

Marco's success hinges on attracting and maintaining its labour force. To this end, the company has implemented several programs to help build a supportive culture:

  • Wellness Program: Marco believes that fit, healthy employees build fit, healthy, profitable organizations. Marco has hired a private company, Definitions, to offer its employees strategies and tactics to empower them to live better. A happier and healthier employee is a more productive employee.
  • Team approach to all projects: Marco's mentoring program for Project Managers and Site Superintendents allows for the transfer or knowledge and exchange of ideas.
  • Training: Each year industry training programs are identified for all staff and are discussed at the employee's annual review for implementation in the following year.
